Citizens Bank International Limited completed its Global Money Week (GMW) 2025 programs, held from March 17 to March 23. The event reached thousands of children and young adults across Nepal.

Under the theme “Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow,” the bank organized a variety of financial literacy activities throughout all seven provinces.
The bank conducted these programs at 149 of its branch offices, aiming to increase awareness about financial literacy. The initiative covered a wide range of locations, including:
Koshi Province: Bhojpur, Mehendranagar, Biratnagar, Birtamod, Itahari, Dharan, and Shahidnagar
Madhesh Province: Birgunj, Nijgadh, Bode Sarai, and Janakpur
Bagmati Province: Bharatpur, Sainkhali, Makwanpur, Mangalbare, Charikot, Narayangadh Chowk, Dhumbarahi, Waling, Narayan, Hariharpur, Jamine, Tadi, Kulsangar, Tangu, Lamachaur, Hillside, and Sindhuli
Gandaki Province: Amarpur, Dharapani Bahudar, Chame, Deumli, Basbaritar, and Kolhavi
Lumbini Province: Tulsipur, Jeetpur, Kapilnagar, Mainam, Odari, Kohalpur, and Suchana Nagar
Karnali Province: Janketh, Juma, Jupal, Simikot, and Namka
Sudurpashchim Province: Various branches
Throughout the week, Citizens Bank International Limited provided vital financial education to youth and students. The programs aimed to raise awareness about financial planning and budgeting. Experts discussed the importance of making informed financial decisions. They also addressed the growing risks in the digital banking landscape, including cybercrime and fraud. The bank emphasized the significance of understanding both cash and online transactions.
The bank’s effort to promote financial literacy focused on empowering young people with knowledge to make better financial choices. In a recent achievement, Citizens Bank received the “Bank of the Year 2023” award at the World Retailing Awards. Recently, it introduced the “Citizens PhonePay Credit Card,” Nepal’s first virtual credit card, which can be accessed directly through a mobile phone. This development marks a significant step forward in digital banking.
Moreover, Citizens Bank International Limited launched another pioneering service in Nepal. Customers can now apply for share purchases and obtain their CRN numbers through the bank’s mobile banking app. This service adds to the bank’s growing list of digital offerings, enhancing accessibility and convenience for its customers.
