Citizens Bank Supports Akhand Jyoti: CSR Aid for Health, Education Trust

Citizens Bank International Limited, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has extended support to the Akhand Jyoti Baba Swami Shreeji Charitable Trust, which has been continuously serving the needy for a long time. The Trust provides health, education, and basic services to underprivileged and distressed individuals.

It also offers free meals to pilgrims, actively contributes to the preservation, renovation, and management of religious heritage sites, operates a girls’ Gurukul with education for women empowerment, protects and manages cows as part of religious and organic traditions, and runs a well-facilitated rest house for travelers and pilgrims. The bank has extended its support to this charitable organization.
In a special ceremony organized at the institution, Mr. Ganesh Raj Pokharel, Chief Executive Officer of the bank, handed over the support. While addressing the event, CEO Pokharel expressed his happiness in being able to support a trust dedicated to selfless service, even if in a small way.
Under its CSR initiative, the bank has been running various programs aimed at bringing positive change in social, economic, cultural, and educational sectors and has plans to continue such activities in the future as well.
Recently, the bank was honored with the prestigious international title “Bank of the Year 2024.” A short while ago, Citizens Bank, in collaboration with Fonepay, launched Nepal’s first-ever “Citizens Fonepay Credit Card” (Virtual Credit Card).
The bank has also introduced new features like share application and CRN number services through its mobile banking app, along with a Cross Bank Teller service, which allows customers of other banks to withdraw cash by scanning Citizens Bank’s Teller QR code at its branches.
