Citizens Bank Tree Plantation 2025: Koshi Province Greening for World Environment Day CSR

Citizens Bank International Limited successfully organized a grand tree plantation program in Koshi Province to mark World Environment Day.

Embracing the theme “Beat the Plastic,” the bank carried out the event as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), aiming to combat the increasing effects of climate change through the preservation and promotion of trees and greenery. The program was held on Sunday, 25th Jestha 2082 (June 8, 2025), in Biratnagar, Koshi Province.
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, over 100 saplings of various species were planted at Bishwakarma Chowk, Ward No. 8, as part of the large-scale initiative.
Under its CSR activities, the bank has previously conducted health camps in various parts of the country and extended support to community schools, temples, and monasteries.
Recently, Citizens Bank was honored with the prestigious global recognition “Bank of the Year 2024.” Furthermore, in collaboration with Fonepay, the bank launched Nepal’s first-ever virtual credit card, “Citizens Fonepay Credit Card.” The bank has also introduced features such as share application and CRN number services through its mobile banking app and the Cross Bank Teller Service, which allows customers of other banks to withdraw cash from Citizens Bank branches by scanning a teller QR code.
