RAC Damauli organized ‘Cyber Security Training’ on 9th September 2017 with the help of Cyber Security International (CSI). CSI is a prominent organization which conducts awareness programs and pieces of training on cybersecurity all over the world.
Cyber Security is often misunderstood as IT security here in Nepal. However, cybersecurity is a part of IT security that deals with the protection of data and information from attack, unauthorized access, and damage. Such, pieces of training and programs are valuable to provide an insight to people who are unaware of cybersecurity and also to reduce the threats of growing cyber crimes and attacks.
The training mainly focused on the safe and secure use of social media and electronic devices which would be helpful in minimizing the effects of cybercrime. Participants were made aware of cybercrimes, the types of cyber crimes and how these crimes are conducted on the internet. They were also trained to be safe from being the victim of such cybercrimes, exploitation & blackmailing through the internet.
All the participants of the training were awarded the Certificate of Completion of Basic Level Cyber Security Training signed by Professor Dr.RamhariSubedi (CEO, CSI Virginia, USA), Regional Director and Trainer of CSI.
Rtr Shikhar Lal Dotel – President of RAC Damauli expressed his happiness to see the participants from the Rotary Club of Damauli, District Police Office-Tanahun, and fellow protractors. He further appreciated Rtr. Kiran Adhikari for his dedication and sponsoring the event which helped in building the hopes for the Rotaract members interested in developing their knowledge and skills in the field of IT.
