Online Shopping Grows Amid COVID

The online shopping trend grows around the world amid the COVID19 pandemic! Today, online shopping has become a necessity rather than a luxury.

People have started to turn to online shopping to be safe and reduce the chances of transmission. Apart from this, they are attracted to the fact that the goods arrive at their doorstep without having to move an inch!

Previously, people were not this much into online shopping. But today, People are buying not only the essentials but also less essential items.

Online shopping for groceries, books, cosmetics, and other goods has increased significantly.

Although online shopping has been around for a long time, it has only recently become mainstream. The need for it is growing due to the need to maintain social distance and fear of infection.

Let’s look at the following statistics:

Not only the developed countries, but the developing countries are also accepting the shopping trend. The online shopping has achieved bigger success due to the pandemic.

In Nepal, online shopping sites like Daraz and Sastodeal are also taking advantage of the pandemic. They are also offering various schemes to attract customers. Daraz has started Mahabachat Offer in a recent attempt to reap the benefits.

Before Covid-19, there was only a little reliance on the internet for daily shopping. But today it has actually become a necessity ! Until recently, online shopping was not seen as a big deal.

Given the success of online shopping amid COVID, it seems to remain an integral part of daily lives even after the end of the pandemic.

Although it’s good news for online shopping sites, the traditional retail stores are going to face a huge decline in their business. There should be some sort of collaboration among the online and traditional stores so that both the domains remain intact.
