Every day, the tasks we do is becoming a part of the Internet including payments, ticketing, banking, and even cryptocurrencies, so security has to be efficient and robust. Though about 90% of people use the Internet throughout their day, most are unaware of the security risks they might face while using the Internet.

Even for an expert user, some not being updated with the news might also be one of the victims of a hacker. For a beginner or an expert, cybersecurity workshops are critical as Internet has become an integral part of our lives and it is necessary to be updated with the latest tips, tricks, techniques, and news on cybersecurity. A Global Cyber Security Summit 2018 is going to be held in Nepal on July 27 – 28, 2018 which is going to be a huge platform to learn about Cyber Security and Network Security.

The two-day event is expected to have people mostly from Professional fields as the entry fee is quite expensive for most students to pay. As a student of Computer Science and Engineering, my real interest also lies with network security and cybersecurity. Most of the knowledge I get is from the Internet and practice with dummy networks.

What I expect from the summit is to learn about the actual real-world problems and experiences with Nepal’s vulnerability and what is being used to be safe and risk-free here. Also, I expect to have some practice sessions making the security summit more exciting and knowledgeable. Since many professionals working in this field will be present there, I’d like to learn and share some of my experiences. Apart from technical knowledge, I expect to increase my number of contacts regarding this field and make myself open to opportunities later in the future.

Since this is a global event, I hope to acquire knowledge not only within Nepal’s perspective but the whole world with comparisons and rankings about where Nepal is today in the field of Cyber Security. On top of that, I’d like to hear from people about how they chose Cyber Security and what challenges they had to face in their lifetime. I mainly expect to learn more from what I have learned and set myself a goal to accomplish.

Overall, I expect the event to be very beneficial and a huge success compared to other global events. I hope this event will be a perfect opportunity for everyone to learn and share their experiences.
