Daraz, Nepal’s leading online shopping platform, is all set to launch its annual 11.11 sale this November 11, 2020 (Kartik 26).

Alibaba’s 11.11 has evolved from a China-only “singles day sale” to now the largest “Global Shopping Festival” celebrated in many countries across the world and surpassing Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Year-End campaigns combined in sales volume. This year’s 11.11. sale in Nepal will host more than 6 thousand sellers, 160+ global and domestic brands, and more than 5 lakh products. The mega sale event will present customers with a number of opportunities to save via Mega Deals, Prepayment Discounts, Flash Sales, Bundle Offers, Free Shipping, Flat Discounts from various sellers as well as brands, and much more.

“COVID-19 has impacted all of our lives significantly. After some challenging months we are excited to bring Alibaba’s 11.11 Shopping Festival for the third time to Nepal. It will not only offer shoppers across the country access to exclusive deals and huge discounts across various categories, but it also gives Nepali sellers the chance to recover faster and boost their sales online during times where many of them see significantly less footfall due to the pandemic,” said Lino Ahlering, Managing Director, Daraz.

11.11. is estimated to host more than 5 lakh users during the day of 11.11. To gear up for Nepal’s largest online sale day, Daraz has hired close to 900 delivery riders and customer care agents to ensure fast delivery in 27 cities nationwide and best customer service. To ensure safety of employees and customers across all its locations, Daraz follows stringent safety and hygiene rules. These include daily temperature checks of every employee, regular deep cleaning as well as strict shift planning to reduce occupancy in every location. All delivery riders are further equipped with protective masks, gloves and sanitizers.

During the 24 hour sale, customers can get discounts of 20%, upto Rs. 3000 off by pre-paying via debit/credit cards of 11 partner banks. Card holders of Nabil Bank, NIC Asia, Sanima Bank, Global IME Bank, NMB Bank, Mega Bank, Nepal Bangladesh Bank, Kumari Bank, Laxmi Bank, Century Bank, and Himalayan Bank are eligible for such discounts during 11.11. In order to avail the discounts, card holders must ensure their bank card is activated for online payments. Customers can contact their respective banks for activation. They can also verify if their card is activated by participating in the Daraz 1 Rupee Game. The game offers customers a chance to win select products by paying Re.1 via card or eSewa from November 1. The payment will be refunded in case customers do not win.

Like the 1 Rupee Game, customers get to engage in various other challenges, games and offers as well. Such as Add to Cart and Win starting from November 1, Mission 11.11. and DFG Ludo Tournament. In “Add to cart and win” customers can win products they have added to their carts from the “win giveaway” tab on daraz app; adding items to cart before 11.11. is highly encouraged as it not only helps the customer from losing out on a great deal but also provides a chance to win the item for free. In “Mission 11.11”, customers must complete certain missions to win exciting prizes. The Ludo Tournament will be held between 11th to 13th November and will have participants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal with awards including a Daraz voucher worth Rs. 15000 and more. It is mandatory to register between 1 to 8 November to participate. Also, customers can win a brand new TVS Apache RR 310 worth Rs. 8 Lakh by simply making a purchase during 11.11.

Overall, 2020’s Daraz 11.11 shapes up to be the biggest online sale day of the year while ensuring a safe shopping experience for customers all over Nepal.
