Day one of first ever Global Cyber Security Summit (GCSS) 2018 is marked on Friday at National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and National Agriculture Research Center (NAARC), Lalitpur, Nepal. On the first day, Pre-Summit Workshop on Cyber Security was organized by Information Security Response Team Nepal (NPECERT) and ICT Frame Magazine in association with Cisco, Texas International College, LogPoint, and CheckPoint.
In the event experts from different sectors provided capacity building training on Cyber Security Technology and Cyber Security Capture the Flag (CTF). Likewise, experts from the organization like CISCO, EC Council, Log point, CheckPoint, Pen Tester Community, OWASP and Laba Pvt. Ltd. were present in the program. Representatives from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Nepal Telecommunication Authority, Nepal Telecom, Department of Information and Technology (DOIT), Banks and Corporates, Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and various educational institutions participated in the event.
The Cyber Security Capture the Flag hackathon was organized, and the winners were awarded. The primary concern of the program was to transfer industry-standard knowledge and skills on cybersecurity measures.
The second day of the program will be held at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu. National and international cybersecurity experts will share their expertise on cyber security’s best practices followed by a panel discussion.
