Digitally Divided: Broadband Challenges And Opportunities In Nepal

Internet Society Nepal Chapter organized National Dialog on Broadband Connectivity Challenges and Opportunities in Nepal at Hotel Pagoda, Kathmandu, Nepal. The program is held on 23rd  June 2017 from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The Keynote Speaker Mr. Manohar Kumar Bhattarai  Paper explores broadband regulatory and policy aspects in the Nepalese region intending to facilitate high-speed broadband deployment.

The paper focused a tremendous opportunity to improve their economic performance and social outcomes via enhanced telecommunication services and, in particular, through better broadband. The dialog highlights were  Explore the opportunities to access of broadband connectivity for e-enables services and Debate on challenges to reach broadband connectivity for policy lobby for the Internet for all in Nepal.

The Program was chaired by President of ISOC Nepal Mr. Bikram Shrestha where as Chief Guest Secretary of MoIC, Mr. Mahendra Kumar Bhattarai, Special Guest Director General Mr. Birendra K. Mishra, Panelists Director of NTA Mr. Anand Raj Khanal, Representative from NTC Mr. KP Bhandari, Past President of ISPAN Mr. Binay Bohora, CEO of Community ISP Mr. Allen Bailochan Tuladhar, Representative from NPIX Mr. Rupesh Shrestha & TJF President Saraswati Dhakal. The Panel is moderated by IPP of ISOC Nepal Mr. Baburam Aryal.
