Dish Media Network Limited continues as the leading co-sponsor of ‘NSJF Pulsar Sports Award-2076’ organized by Nepal Sports Journalists Forum.
The award organizers, the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum and Dis Media reached an agreement at a function on Wednesday. The agreement was signed by DISH Media Managing Director Sudip Acharya and Forum Secretary-General Prajwal Oli. Due to the leading co-sponsorship, Dis Media will provide Rs. 1.1 million in cash and in-kind to the award program.
Dish Media Managing Director Acharya said after the agreement that the consistency of the award was the primary theme, with which he was very satisfied, even when circumstances were challenging.
The 17th edition of the Pulsar Sports Award will be organized on 27th Poush in honor of the nationally and internationally honoring athletes, coaches, sports promoters, and organizations that have made an invaluable contribution to the nation.
Nominations have been made public for the category of People’s Choice under the award. The nominees were Gaurika Singh of swimming, Aruna Shahi of volleyball, Sadina Shrestha of basketball, Savitra Bhandari of football, and Mandekaji Shrestha of Karate.
The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be chosen on the basis of the vote, the likes on Facebook, the votes of the organizing Nepal Sports Journalists Forum members, and the votes of the National Sports Association’s head coach. From last week, the voting process had already begun.
The nominations for the best male, female, and youth players and the best coach of the year will be made public in a couple of days, according to the organizers. Prajwal Oli, General Secretary of the Forum, confirmed that the Lifetime Achievement Award, Special Award, and Team of the Year Award would be announced on the day of the award ceremony.
This time, an international sports journalist will also be honored, the forum said.
