With the start of New Year, the two big DTH companies are planning to merge together.
Dishhome and Prabhu TV are merging together. These firms, which previously provided Direct to Home (DTH), are planning to merge and provide services under one brand.
Since the previous year, these companies have also offered internet service. Sudip Acharya, CEO of Dishhome, said that the merger is being planned by combining and making both internet and TV available under the same brand name.
He claims that discussions about a merger have been ongoing for some time. The decision has not made yet. However, the two companies have decided that integrated services are the only option that is better.
“In this small market, a merger is needed to provide better services as one company rather than several companies,” he explained. Despite the recent introduction of the Clean-feed policy, the television services industry has shrunk.
As a result, the merger is being debated. ‘However, no conclusion has yet been drawn.’
