Purbanchal University’s School of Science and Technology has initiated a week-long workshop focusing on the significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and development.
Dr. Sudan Jha Leads Week-Long AI Training
The training, which commenced yesterday, is designed to equip faculty members and staff from all constituent campuses of the university with essential knowledge about AI and its application in advancing research efforts.
The workshop features Dr. Sudan Jha from Kathmandu University as one of the key resources. According to Dr. Jha, the training aims to direct human resources towards more effective research and development activities, a crucial aspect for the university’s progress. A total of 57 faculty members and staff are participating in the workshop.
In his remarks, Purbanchal University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Biju Kumar Thapalia highlighted the vital role such training programs play in enhancing the skills of those involved in research and development. He stated, “The role of technology in research and development has been significant in advancing science and technology, leading to the creation of new products. It is essential to make AI widely used to facilitate these advancements.”
Vice-Chancellor Thapalia further emphasized that future studies, research, creation, and development cannot be expedited without a deep understanding of AI and its potential for innovation. He pointed out that the integration of technology has made research and development more efficient and productive, leading to faster discoveries and enabling global collaboration.
The workshop will continue over the next six days, with the participants expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of AI’s utility in research and development by the end of the program.
