Digital Rights Nepal (DRN) is proud to announce a new partnership with the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI) aimed at monitoring internet censorship and tracking network disruptions across Nepal.
DRN & OONI Join Forces
This strategic collaboration empowers DRN to leverage the OONI Probe tool to collect real-time data on internet restrictions, analyze the state of internet freedom in Nepal, and engage local communities through workshops and educational programs.
A Data-Driven Approach to Internet Freedom
By using the OONI Probe, DRN will be able to detect instances of internet censorship, filter internet restrictions, and identify patterns in network disruptions. This data-driven approach will provide critical insights into the current state of internet freedom in Nepal and strengthen advocacy for a more open and unrestricted digital environment.
Community Engagement and Empowerment
In addition to data collection, DRN plans to conduct workshops to engage local communities, fostering awareness of internet censorship issues and encouraging individuals to participate in preserving internet freedoms. Through these educational initiatives, DRN aims to build a more informed and proactive digital community in Nepal.
Looking Ahead
The findings from this collaboration will be shared with the public, policymakers, and advocacy groups, reinforcing DRN’s commitment to a free and open internet in Nepal. Stay tuned for updates on this critical initiative to safeguard Nepal’s digital rights.
