About the ECAN SoftEd IT Scholarship
The ECAN SoftEd IT Scholarship is designed to support students in Nepal who aspire to pursue a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science with an Artificial Intelligence program. This comprehensive course covers modules related to Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Programming, Software Engineering, and Innovation Projects, and includes a dedicated one-year professional placement.
Objectives of the Scholarship
The primary objectives of the ECAN SoftEd IT Scholarship are as follows:
- To contribute to the “Study in Nepal” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign of ECAN.
- To offer various scholarship programs through SoftEd Group.
- To encourage students to pursue IT programs, thereby developing a strong workforce for the country and the global job market.
Scholarship Details
The ECAN SoftEd IT Scholarship program offers a total of 50 seats with varying levels of scholarship support:
100% Scholarship: 2 seats (Minimum 3.6 GPA in Grade 12)
50% Scholarship: 10 seats (Minimum 3.5 GPA in Grade 12)
30% Scholarship: 38 seats (Minimum 3.0 GPA in Grade 12)
Eligibility and Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the BSc (Hons) Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence course, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of the Grade 12 exam conducted by the National Exam Board (NEB) or equivalent with an aggregate score ≥ 3.0 CGPA.
- For A-Levels, a minimum of 3.0 credits with at least a grade of D and above.
- Demonstration of English proficiency with IELTS (overall score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all bands) or PTE (overall score of 64 with a minimum of 59 in all bands).
Scholarship Policies
The scholarship policies for the ECAN SoftEd IT Scholarship program are as follows:
Scholarships are provided at the time of admission upon recommendation by the ECAN Federation, followed by a scholarship interview panel.
- The scholarship covers the fees of Sunway College but excludes the university registration fee.
- Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance throughout the semester.
- Scholarship recipients must be regular with all assessment categories, including presentations, assignments, case studies, etc.
- Scholarship recipients with more than 50% scholarships must maintain at least 70% in each module per semester, while those with up to 50% must maintain at least 60%.
- Active participation in extracurricular, co-curricular, and research activities at the college is required.
- Failure to maintain academic performance and adhere to scholarship policies may result in the revocation of the scholarship.
