Eduroam Connection Launched at National Academy of Medical Sciences Bir Hospital. The eduroam connection established at the National Academy of Medical Sciences Bir Hospital. Bir Hospital is the reputed and one of the busiest hospitals in Kathmandu. It was established in 1991 A.D. by Bir Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana. It is situated in the capital city of Nepal.
Eduroam is a global roaming service for users in research, high-level education, and further education. It provides researchers, trainers, students easy and secure network access when visiting an institution other than their own.

Eduroam is a secure, world-wide roaming access service for the global research and education community. With100s of thousands of wireless access points sharing the common SSID, eduroam acts as a giant world-wide hotspot.

Eduroam facilitates researchers, teachers, and students from an institution easy as well as secure network access when visiting another, domestic or global. Authentication of users is performed by your home organization securely without revealing username and password to the visited organizations. End Users use the same credentials as when they access the network locally. The visited institution handles authorization to access the Internet and possibly other resources.
Nepal Research Education Network has deployed the National Roaming Operator for Nepal and helping institutions implement to use the Eduroam service.
