Business magnate Elon Musk has always been in the news. He becomes even more popular after acquiring the microblogging and social networking service Twitter. The deal had been one of the most talked about moments of the year.

Musk finalized the deal on October 27, 2022, and became the immediate owner and CEO of one of the largest social media companies.

With the takeover, the micro-blogging site has witnessed multiple policies and personnel changes in the last few weeks. Musk even fired half of the company employees after the takeover, including the former CEO Parag Agrawal.

He asked the remaining employees to increase productivity by putting in longer hours at work and dismissed the company’s permanent work-from-home policy. This has even created chaos in the company, with thousands of employees opting for voluntary resignation.

Now, Twitter’s new owner met with the company’s software engineers and is reportedly planning to cut more jobs in the sales division.

After the mass resignation wave swept through the company, Elon Musk issued an urgent call to meet Twitter’s software developers. Musk sent an email to the employees building software for Twitter and requested them to visit the company’s San Francisco office in person.

Rumors suggest that at least 1,200 employees resigned from Twitter. With Musk wanting to cut off more employees, new layoffs are expected for the sales and partnership teams.

The report also claims that Musk asked the existing team leads of all departments to cut off more employees unanimously. Robin Wheeler and Maggie Suniewick, who were leading the marketing sales and partnership team, respectively, reportedly refused to do as asked, which finally led them to lose their jobs.

However, the billionaire is yet to announce the new wave of job cuts officially.
