Employees Provident Fund Nepal Interest Rates 2025: 5.00% Savings & Revised Loan Policies

The Employees Provident Fund (Karmachari Sanchaya Kosh) has revised its interest rates and loan policies effective Shrawan 1, 2082 (July 17, 2025). The newly determined annual interest rate for contributors’ savings and retirement funds is now 5.00%. This decision was made following the recent board meeting of the fund’s executive committee.

Revised Loan Interest Rates
The fund has also updated the interest rates on different types of loans available to contributors. The new annual interest rates are as follows:
Special Loan (Vishesh Sapati): 6.25%
Home Loan, Educational Loan, and House Renovation Loan: 7.25%
Land Purchase Loan and Simple Loan (Saral Sapati): 7.50%
For contributors who make timely repayments on mortgage-based loans (excluding special loans), a 0.25% interest rebate will be provided as an incentive.
Loan Facilities And Limits
Karmachari Sanchaya Kosh continues to offer several financial support programs to its members. These include:
Up to Rs. 1 crore for house construction and land purchase
Up to Rs. 30 lakhs for house renovation
Up to Rs. 40 lakhs for higher education of the contributor or their spouse or children
Up to Rs. 60 lakhs under the simple loan category for emergency financial needs during the service period
Additionally, contributors can access up to 90% of their total savings as a special loan for urgent financial needs.
Contribution And Beneficiary Statistics
As of now, the fund has a total of around 6.79 lakh members, including:
5.80 lakh contributors from civil service, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, public enterprises, and the organized sector
99,391 voluntary contributors
In the current fiscal year, the fund has provided:
1,58,344 special loans
1,14,456 fund withdrawals
2,926 mortgage-based loans
25,298 cases of social security benefits
1,791 retirement fund disbursements based on contribution
