The app’s removal was due to discrepancies in the business verification process that arose after eSewa transitioned from a private limited company to a limited company on 10 May , 2024
According to eSewa, Google has implemented a new policy aimed at enhancing user security and experience. This policy mandates that any discrepancies between the developer’s account details and their business verification can result in the temporary removal of apps from the Play Store. eSewa’s account was originally verified under the name esewa Private Limited, but the name change to a limited company caused issues during the verification process.
Google relies on the D-U-N-S number, provided by the American company Dun & Bradstreet, to verify businesses and organizations. During the name change process, a mismatch between the details in Google’s system and the D-U-N-S number led to the temporary unavailability of eSewa on the Play Store.
Now that the verification process has been successfully completed, the eSewa app is once again available for download on the Google Play Store.
The company reassures users that this is a standard procedure and that such temporary unavailability can occur during the verification process when details are being updated.
Conclusion: A Routine Process
While the temporary unavailability of the eSewa app may have raised concerns, it was simply a part of Google’s standard procedure to ensure the accuracy and security of developer accounts. The issue has since been resolved, and the eSewa app is now back on the Google Play Store, ready for users to download and continue using securely.
