eSewa Nepal SBI Bank Integration: Mobile Banking Wallet Load & Fund Transfer

eSewa, Nepal’s first digital payment platform, has entered into a strategic partnership with Nepal SBI Bank Limited. The goal is to simplify digital transactions and improve service access for customers of both institutions.

The two companies signed an agreement during a formal event held last week. Their representatives finalized the deal and launched the service. This partnership allows Nepal SBI Bank users to load money into eSewa wallets directly using mobile banking. Similarly, eSewa users can transfer wallet funds to their SBI bank accounts without hassle.
This deal increases the number of banks and financial institutions linked with eSewa to 51. The companies believe this move will improve digital financial services across the country. It will also promote a more connected and secure digital payment system.
eSewa CEO Jagadish Khadka welcomed the partnership. He said it would make fund transfers smoother and more convenient. According to him, the integration will help save time and boost efficiency for users. He also emphasized the importance of making digital payments safe and user-friendly.
Nepal SBI Bank expressed similar excitement about the collaboration. The bank aims to expand its digital offerings and reach more users. Both sides believe this move will help customers manage their finances more easily from anywhere.
eSewa started in 2009 as Nepal’s first digital payment service provider. Since then, it has grown rapidly. It now offers over 2,000 services. These include mobile top-ups, electricity and water bill payments, flight and bus ticket bookings, hotel reservations, school and college fee payments, share and DEMAT renewals, bluebook renewals, insurance payments, and more.
eSewa also provides personal loan services, digital merchant links, and other financial tools. Its services are available throughout all 77 districts of Nepal. To support this, eSewa has 8 branch offices and 3 liaison offices outside Kathmandu Valley.
This partnership with Nepal SBI Bank is part of eSewa’s ongoing plan to promote financial inclusion. It aims to bring more people into the digital economy by making payments easier and more secure.
