The famous Churemai Temple, located on the border of Makwanpur and Bara districts, witnessed fewer devotees this Vijaya Dashami compared to previous years.
Fewer Devotees Churemai Temple
Traditionally, the temple draws thousands of worshippers during Dashain, where special rituals and animal sacrifices are performed. However, according to the Churemai Temple Management Committee, the flow of devotees was relatively low this year.
Reduced Crowd Compared to Previous Years
In earlier years, Churemai Temple became a major religious hub during Vijaya Dashami, with thousands of pilgrims gathering for puja, offerings, and animal sacrifices. This year, however, the committee noted that only a limited number of devotees visited the temple.
Possible Reasons for Low Attendance
The management committee indicated that several factors may have influenced the reduced turnout. Changing social practices, travel difficulties, or other regional circumstances could have impacted the traditional celebrations.
Cultural and Religious Significance
Churemai Temple holds an important place in local culture, especially during Dashain, the biggest Hindu festival in Nepal. Despite the lower number of visitors this year, the rituals and special prayers were still conducted in keeping with tradition.
