Promoting entrepreneurship and startups among students
This potential partnership aims to prepare students not just for jobs but also for leadership roles in entrepreneurship and innovation.

FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal highlighted the importance of this collaboration. He said the initiative could help reduce the gap between academic institutions and the private sector.
“This partnership will support the production of skilled human resources for industries,” Dhakal said. “It will also provide more job opportunities for young people, which is essential for our economy.”
He emphasized that FNCCI fully supports such efforts and remains positive about future cooperation with the academic sector.

“To meet this goal, we need support from the business sector,” Dr. Karki said. “FNCCI can help us design training programs that prepare students for real-world challenges.”
He also noted that research and innovation should be key parts of Nepal’s higher education strategy.
Research, Innovation, And Job Creation
Both parties emphasized the importance of encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment generation. They agreed that more students should have access to internships, research opportunities, and exposure to real business environments.
This partnership could help young people become more confident, skilled, and ready for the job market. Moreover, it could spark new ideas and enterprises led by graduates.
Next Steps In The Partnership
FNCCI and Nepal University plan to hold more discussions in the coming weeks. They will focus on preparing action plans and formal agreements. These steps will turn their ideas into practical programs.
There is also interest in launching joint pilot projects that could be expanded nationwide if successful. Both institutions hope this collaboration will become a model for other universities and business groups in Nepal.
