Billion in foreign Investment in the Information Technology sector

The information technology sector is one of the fast-growing sectors in Nepal. IT is focused on the use of the technical part of the job to provide services rapidly and efficiently. The IT sector in Nepal is mainly focused on international outsourcing jobs.

As of 2021, many foreign companies are also investing in the IT sector in Nepal. More than two billion foreign investment is expected to come into Nepal’s information and communication technology sector.

According to the statistics of the Department of Industry. A total investment commitment of Rs. 2.5 billion has received since August of the current Year 2020/21.

Five foreign companies have expressed their commitment to invest till January 23. There are four China companies and one in Singapore company.

Out of that, Rs 1.65 billion has also been committed from the Singapore company alone.

According to the department, 400 million investment commitments have come from four Chinese companies too.

All this investment is related to software development.

Five industries have also registered in the current fiscal year. With the objective of operating information and communication technology industries.

The total capital of all these companies is Rs. 650 million. It is said that 240 people will get direct employment from the operation of the industry.
