The unveiling of Forthing’s first model in Nepal will take place at the premier national auto exhibition hosted by the Nepal Automobile Import & Manufacturers Association, NAIMA 2025, from August 6 to 10 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Laxmi Group, one of Nepal’s most diversified and longstanding conglomerates with a legacy dating back to 1973, has played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s automotive landscape.
Over the decades, the Group has expanded its footprint in automotive trading, distributing a wide range of passenger and commercial vehicles as well as auto components through renowned global brands such as Hyundai, BMW, Kaiyi, SML ISUZU, and now Forthing.
A major milestone was achieved in May 2024 with the launch of Laxmi Motor Corporation (LMC)—Nepal’s first-ever four-wheeler assembly plant for Hyundai vehicles, located in Ramgram, Parasi (Nawalparasi District). This landmark facility positions Laxmi Group at the forefront of Nepal’s automotive industrialization, making it the first Nepali conglomerate to operate its vehicle assembly plant.
Further reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility, Laxmi Group has established a growing network of over 63 RE-Lax recharge networks across Nepal, providing both electric vehicle charging and repair services, thereby strengthening EV infrastructure and customer convenience.
Forthing, internationally recognized for its intelligent and cutting-edge electric mobility-focused design, will mark its entry into Nepal with the launch of a premium electric SUV. The model promises to blend performance, technology, and modern aesthetics into a package tailored for the evolving needs of Nepali consumers.
While the vehicle’s official name and pricing remain under wraps until the grand reveal at NAIMA 2025, key specifications are already generating excitement. Equipped with a 64.4 kWh battery and a 99 kW motor, the SUV delivers an estimated driving range of over 400 km, making it ideal for both city driving and longer journeys.
A permanent magnet synchronous motor ensures smooth, responsive performance, while the interior design emphasizes comfort, functionality, and intelligent ergonomics.
“Forthing is not just a vehicle, it’s a statement about where the future of mobility is heading,” said a spokesperson from Laxmi E-Mobility. “With this launch, we aim to give Nepali customers access to global innovation in electric transportation, backed by Laxmi’s trusted legacy in the auto sector.”
NAIMA 2025, set to be the largest automobile showcase in Nepal, will spotlight electric mobility, smart transport systems, and the country’s transition toward a sustainable mobility future.
With participants ranging from global manufacturers to clean energy innovators, the five-day expo is poised to become a milestone platform for collaboration and innovation in the automotive sector.
By partnering with Forthing, Laxmi E-Mobility reinforces its commitment to delivering advanced, sustainable mobility solutions to the Nepali market.
The company continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Nepal’s EV landscape, offering customers access to global-quality vehicles backed by trusted local expertise.
