A national convention of colleges affiliated with Far Western University (FWU) was successfully held on Saturday, Baisakh 6, at Alcove Restaurant, Minbhawan, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
FWUCAN Formed
From this event, the Far Western University College Association Nepal (FWUCAN) was officially formed, with Mr. Laxman Pokhrel elected as President and a 13-member executive committee established.
FWUCAN will serve as a common platform for 32 affiliated campuses under Far Western University.
The newly formed committee includes:

FWUCAN aims to represent the affiliated campuses and advocate for academic quality, professional development, research opportunities, and the rights of students. The association will coordinate with the university, government, and non-government agencies, ministries, departments, and other relevant institutions for the betterment of education.
Far Western University, established in 2067 B.S. as a national university under the full ownership of the Government of Nepal, is located in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur.
The university is recognized as one of the leading academic institutions in Nepal, known for its excellence in education, research-based learning, and community engagement. It currently runs undergraduate and postgraduate programs in faculties like Management, Education, Science, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Information Technology.
With 15 constituent campuses and 32 affiliated private campuses, Far Western University is the second-largest university in Nepal by student enrollment. It is expected that the formation of FWUCAN will enhance collaboration between the university and its affiliated campuses, leading to improved quality in education and research.
