The eagerly awaited GAC Aion U-T EV is finally poised for its official launch in the Nepali market, arriving right after the Dashain festival.

Aion U-T EV Launch

CG Motors, the official distributor for GAC vehicles in Nepal, prepares to introduce this stylish and intelligent next-gen urban EV crossover.

The vehicle’s launch faced initial delays. Natural disasters at the China–Nepal border affected shipping schedules. Furthermore, a fire incident at CG Motors’ Thapathali showroom contributed to the postponement.

However, the company confirms that the electric hatchback will now be available in the Nepali market very soon, ready to compete fiercely in the growing EV segment with an expected price around Rs. 35 Lakh.

Design: A Head-Turner with Global Firsts

The Aion U-T EV immediately distinguishes itself with a truly unique exterior design. Designers created the vehicle to be instantly recognizable on the road.

It proudly features the world’s first-ever Eyebrow Headlights—a design element that promises to capture attention. The rear design adopts a sleek fastback look.

This silhouette draws inspiration from the modern artistic trends of Milan, giving it a sophisticated, global feel. Playful pixel graphic lights are integrated below the main headlamps, adding a distinct, futuristic touch to the front fascia.

From the side, the bold and contrasting body lines contribute to a prominent road presence, perfectly embodying the look of a modern urban crossover.

Intelligent Interior and Dimensions

Inside, the Aion U-T EV offers a notably soft and spacious environment focused on passenger comfort. The vehicle features an extra-long 2,750 mm wheelbase.

This long wheelbase ensures generous cabin space despite its compact classification. A fully flat foldable seat system enhances versatility.

Users can convert the interior into a large, comfortable space or maximize cargo capacity. The multi-layer trunk design further optimizes storage.

It provides flexibility for carrying various types of luggage and items. The car measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, riding on stylish 17-inch alloy wheels. These dimensions position it competitively against rivals.

Advanced Climate and Infotainment Technology

Technology features prominently in the GAC Aion U-T EV’s cabin. It incorporates an advanced climate system. This system efficiently provides dual-layer air conditioning and heat pump functions.

Its performance capabilities are remarkable: it can drop the cabin temperature by a rapid 30°C in only 30 minutes, or raise it by 40°C in just 20 minutes.

This ensures comfort in Nepal’s varied climatic conditions. Drivers interact with an immersive, high-tech interface. This includes a large 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system dominating the center console. An 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster clearly displays all critical driving information, further enhancing the appeal for tech-savvy drivers.

Power, Range, and Safety Excellence

Powering the new EV is a reliable 44 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery. This battery successfully passed stringent safety tests, including the challenging nail penetration safety test.

The battery system delivers a certified range of 340 km on a single charge. This range proves adequate for both urban commuting and weekend excursions.

Fast charging capabilities mean drivers spend less time waiting. The battery can recharge from 30% to 80% in an impressively quick 24 minutes. A powerful 99 kW motor drives the car. This motor ensures responsive and efficient performance.

Safety is also a major focus. The Aion U-T EV includes ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features. It incorporates multiple panoramic smart safety systems for comprehensive protection.

A robust surround-type safety cage forms the primary structure, designed to meet high global crash standards. Best-in-class V-shaped side airbags further protect occupants in the event of a collision.

An ultra-large panoramic sunroof, complete with an electric sunshade, brightens the cabin while offering a premium feel. CG Motors is making a strong statement about safety and technology with this introduction.

Market Positioning and Pricing

The expected price point of the GAC Aion U-T EV is around Rs. 35 Lakh. This strategic pricing makes it a highly attractive option in the competitive electric vehicle segment.

The Avion U-T EV is specifically aimed at competing with established models like the BYD Dolphin.

With its unique design, advanced features, solid range, and attractive price, the GAC Aion U-T EV is set to make a significant impact on Nepal’s electric vehicle landscape. The combined efforts of GAC and CG Motors promise a new era of stylish and accessible electric mobility for Nepali consumers.
