While the party’s official name has not yet been finalized, Gurung stressed that the move represents a bold step to demonstrate the capability and vision of Generation Z in shaping Nepal’s political future.

Inclusion of Prominent Figures

In his announcement, Gurung highlighted efforts to include popular and influential figures such as:

Balen Shah – Mayor of Kathmandu, known for his independent leadership style.

Kulman Ghising – Respected Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), credited for ending load-shedding in Nepal.

Hark Sampang – Mayor of Dharan, widely admired for grassroots leadership.

Gurung stated that if these figures aspire to the role of Prime Minister, he is willing to step aside and support their leadership. His primary goal, he emphasized, is national progress and transformation, not personal ambition.

Gen Z’s Political Vision

The announcement marks a significant turning point in Nepal’s politics, with Generation Z aiming to challenge traditional power structures. Gurung explained that the new party will focus on:

Good governance and transparency

Youth participation in policy-making

Technology-driven solutions

Economic reforms for sustainable growth

Accountability in leadership

He believes that the upcoming election will serve as a platform to showcase Gen Z’s political strength and its readiness to lead Nepal toward a modern and progressive future.

A Step Toward National Transformation

With Nepal’s political landscape undergoing rapid change, the entry of a Gen Z political party has sparked discussions nationwide. Supporters see it as an opportunity to inject fresh ideas, innovation, and accountability into governance, while skeptics question whether young leaders can effectively manage the country’s complex challenges.

Nonetheless, Gurung remains confident:

“Leadership is not about individuals, but about the nation’s future. Whoever leads, the mission is the same—national progress.”
