Gen Z Martyrs Scholarship
20th October 2025, Kathmandu
The Golyan Group and the families of the Gen Z movement martyrs have formally established a crucial scholarship initiative.
Gen Z Martyrs Scholarship
They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) following the company’s commitment announced on October 10. This pivotal agreement provides comprehensive education and health support for the affected families.
This Gen Z Martyrs Scholarship Support addresses the immediate and long-term needs of the children who lost a parent.
The first phase of this critical support covers eleven children from eight families. Some families have multiple children needing assistance. The recipients include toddlers as young as eighteen months old.
Golyan Group will support these children from their Montessori years right through to Grade 12 completion. More families are expected to join the program immediately after the Tihar festival.
Securing the Educational Future
The MoU details a robust financial and logistical framework for the children’s education. Scholarships will cover costs from preschool to Grade 12.
Families retain the flexibility to choose their child’s current, desired, or a suitable new educational institution. This ensures continuity and suitability for each child.
Golyan Group implemented a system for direct and transparent fund disbursement. Funds will be deposited straight into the schools’ bank accounts.
This deposit covers all required fees and may be arranged as a lump sum payment. This efficient method eliminates financial burdens and administrative complexities for the guardians.
The comprehensive coverage extends beyond basic tuition. It actively includes admission fees and regular charges for one extracurricular activity per child.
This ensures a holistic educational experience. When necessary, Golyan Group will establish tripartite agreements involving the guardians, the company, and the school.
This structure guarantees accountability and smooth administration of the scholarship. Enrollment has already begun at respected institutions, including Euro School Chauni, Paradise English School Sanepa, and Jagruti Vidyasadan Mulpani.
A Guardian’s Active Role
Families have expressed deep gratitude for the initiative. Many refer to the Golyan Group as a new “guardian” for their children’s educational journey.
This corporate intervention brings significant relief during an unimaginable period of loss. Their appreciation validates the Group’s commitment to social responsibility.
Jyoti Gaire, Head of Corporate Affairs at Golyan Group, articulated the Group’s position with sincerity. She stated that no assistance can ever erase the pain of losing a loved one.
However, she affirmed, “We extend our support to let you know you are not alone. We consider it our responsibility to protect the dreams of the martyrs’ children.” This statement reinforces the initiative’s core mission: turning grief into opportunity.
Phased Implementation and Inclusivity
The first phase is actively focused on educational support. However, it also includes essential health insurance coverage. This coverage extends to parents and guardians not already covered by the educational scholarships.
The Group understands that holistic support must address both learning and well-being. The program will rapidly expand in its second phase. This subsequent rollout will include the remaining martyr families.
Critically, the second phase will reach families living outside the Kathmandu Valley. Golyan Group aims for full inclusion of all eligible families by mid-November (Kartik). This aggressive timeline demonstrates the Group’s active commitment to nationwide outreach and equality of support.
Beyond CSR: Honoring Sacrifice
This initiative transcends typical Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Golyan Group is directly honoring the sacrifices of the martyrs. They are securing the future of the next generation.
By providing unwavering education and health support, the Group ensures that their loss does not extinguish the children’s dreams. The deployment of a direct-to-bank funding model highlights an efficient, transparent use of financial technology.
This practical approach leverages modern banking systems to ensure funds reach their intended purpose without delay or diversion. Such logistical efficiency sets a strong standard for corporate philanthropy.
This program actively protects the future prospects of these vulnerable young individuals. It stands as a powerful example of corporate citizenship in action.
