Global IME Bank Limited has donated NPR 2 million for the construction of an electric crematorium in Kohalpur Municipality. The project aims to provide residents with a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to traditional cremation.

In a ceremony, Shanta Shiwakoti, the Lumbini Province Head of Global IME Bank, handed over the donation to Sangita Suvedi, acting mayor of Kohalpur Municipality. This donation reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting local communities and sustainable development.
Details of the Electric Crematorium Project
The electric crematorium will be built at the confluence of the Duduwa and Rohini rivers in Ward No. 11 of Kohalpur. Construction is already underway. Once completed, the crematorium will offer an affordable and environmentally friendly cremation option for Kohalpur residents and surrounding areas.

Shanta Shiwakoti expressed confidence that the electric crematorium will reduce the environmental impact of traditional cremation. Electric cremation will help lower harmful emissions and pollution.
