A high-level delegation from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, visited Kathmandu University (KU) to explore collaborative opportunities in academia and research. Led by Prof. Aman Oo, PhD, Dean of the School of Engineering at Macquarie University, the team engaged in fruitful discussions with KU’s delegation, headed by Prof. Manish Pokharel, PhD, Dean of the School of Engineering.
Global Academic Ties 2024
The meeting focused on identifying potential short-term and long-term collaborations. Key discussion areas included:
Faculty exchange programs.
Virtual career and educational counseling sessions.
Opportunities for PhD studies.
Development of dual-degree programs.
Both universities emphasized their commitment to fostering global academic ties and creating robust platforms for knowledge-sharing.
After the discussions, the delegation toured KU’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Green Hydrogen Lab, High Voltage Lab, and the under-construction tunnel, reflecting KU’s dedication to research and innovation.
The visit concluded with an agreement to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is expected to be finalized by January 2025. This MoU will serve as the foundation for strengthening academic and research partnerships between the two institutions.
Kathmandu University continues to enhance its reputation as a hub for international academic cooperation, aligning with its mission to foster innovative and impactful learning environments.
