On Friday, to mark both the International MSME Day and the 25th week of the Haat Bazaar, the bank organized a special fair at its regular marketplace.
Embracing the slogan “Entrepreneurial Production, Global IME’s Promotion,” the bank has been hosting this Haat Bazaar every Friday at its Kamaladi branch in Kathmandu. The goal is to help micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which are financed by the bank, gain wider market access.
Speaking at the event marking the 25th week of the Haat Bazaar and International MSME Day, the Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr. Surendra Raj Regmi, highlighted the significant role of MSMEs in the national economy. He stated that the Haat Bazaar plays a vital role in promoting such enterprises.
He noted that the Haat Bazaar helps expand the market reach of MSMEs, contributing to a sustainable and green economy. It creates a direct connection between farmers and consumers and ensures fair pricing for the producers.
Furthermore, he shared that the Haat Bazaar encourages the promotion of organic, indigenous, and locally produced goods, facilitating their marketing and uplifting local producers.
“What we started as a small and symbolic campaign has now grown significantly. This Haat Bazaar will continue to contribute meaningfully to the promotion of organic, indigenous, and local products in Nepal and encourage producers,” he said.
The Haat Bazaar showcases and sells over two dozen products from farmers and entrepreneurs. These include pesticide-free agricultural products, indigenous crops and their derivatives, handicrafts made using local resources, decorative plants, and more.
Considering customer convenience, the bank has also been launching various timely and relevant plans to benefit its customers.
