The Global Math Debate League is an innovative international competition designed to engage students in grades 5 to 8 in structured mathematical debates. Unlike traditional math contests, which emphasize calculations and formulas, GMDL fosters critical thinking, logical reasoning, and real-world application of mathematical concepts.
Divesh Bathija, A Global Math Story Teller, stated that “Mathematics is not just about numbers; it’s about reasoning and problem-solving. GMDL helps students see math beyond textbooks. The event provides young learners with the opportunity to articulate their ideas, counter opposing arguments with mathematical evidence, and think analytically under pressure. The competition nurtures confidence, collaboration, and communication skills, making mathematics an exciting and intellectually stimulating experience.
The Beta Category of the competition also saw exceptional performances from Nepal’s brightest young minds. Ankuram Academy’s winning team featured Arya Sharma Laudari, Aditi Joshi, and Samragi Snehi Pradhan. Kumudini Homes Secondary School was represented by Shane Gurung, Aavana Singh Bishwakarma, and Pratistha K.C.
