At the event, Chairman Basanta Pandit highlighted the company’s achievements. He said Global Oriens Nepal has provided opportunities to more than 4,700 young people as distributors across the country. Over the last five years, the company has recorded a business volume of NPR 1.19 billion.

“This is more than a company,” Pandit said. “It’s a movement to empower Nepali youth through business.”

Transparent Operation and Local Vision

Chairman Pandit emphasized the company’s commitment to transparency. He mentioned that Global Oriens submits detailed reports to government bodies every three months.

Looking ahead, he said the company is moving towards full domestic production. “We are planning to set up a manufacturing plant in Nepal to make 100% Nepali products,” he announced.

He also introduced two new products, coffee and perfume, during the event. With this, the company now offers over 50 different items, including herbal beauty goods, supplements, and daily-use products.

Lawmaker Calls for Policy Reform

Federal parliamentarian Lal Prasad Sawa Limbu was the chief guest. He spoke about the lack of employment for youth in Nepal. According to him, the government alone cannot generate enough jobs.

“If trade deficits continue and economic gaps widen, the state system could fall apart,” he warned. He urged the government to revise laws and promote entrepreneurship, just like developed countries do.

“We need policies that support business, not block it,” he added.

Former Minister Warns Against Harsh Controls

Former Commerce Minister Min Bahadur Bishwakarma also spoke at the program. He criticized the state for using threats and restrictions against businesspeople.

“Instead of punishing them, we should motivate traders to pay taxes and follow the law,” he said.

He pointed out that direct selling can be a strong solution. “If we promote and regulate this model, it could provide jobs and support local production,” Bishwakarma explained. “Even a 50% domestic production target could replace most imports.”

Chamber Leader Urges Practical Economic Strategy

Santosh Kumar Pandey, Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, also addressed the gathering. He expressed concern over the current state of the economy.

“Poor planning and unclear policies have made it hard for traders to survive,” he said. He suggested that the government should stop trying to control businesses and instead create systems that support them.

Pandey believes direct selling could become a major trend in Nepal’s business sector. He praised Global Oriens for showing how local products can help reduce imports and create jobs.

“When youth can earn from home, they don’t need to go abroad,” he said.

Consumer Forum Supports Direct Selling Law

Prem Lal Maharjan, president of Consumer Forum Nepal, shared insights on the legal journey of the direct selling sector. He said efforts to create a direct selling law began back in 2004 (2061 BS).

“This law took years of discussion, workshops, and consultations,” he explained. He believes regulation, not restriction, is the right path.

“When done right, this business helps families earn and stay together,” he added. “It’s a need of the time.”

Strong Network and Local Partnerships

Currently, Global Oriens Nepal sells its products through more than 2,600 distributors across the country. The company also operates 26 sales centers to reach customers directly.

It has also partnered with eight local producers. These collaborations help manufacture food supplements, beauty items, and household goods inside Nepal.

The company aims to strengthen these partnerships and increase the use of locally made products.

From Domestic Growth to Global Dreams

With the slogan “Global Oriens Nepal: A Path to Prosperity,” the company is looking to scale new heights. Its future goals include replacing imports with local products and eventually exporting Nepali goods to the international market.

“Our journey is just beginning,” Chairman Pandit said. “We want to build a self-reliant economy with youth, innovation, and Nepali products at the core.”
