In a major win for sustainable transportation, Green SM, the pioneering all-electric ride-hailing platform from Vietnam’s Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM), has been recognized with the prestigious Green Leadership Award at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2025.

This esteemed accolade, presented at a ceremony in Bangkok, celebrates Green SM’s groundbreaking efforts in creating a regenerative transportation ecosystem across Southeast Asia.
The Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards, founded by Enterprise Asia in 2011, is a highly respected platform that acknowledges corporate sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility across the continent. The 2025 theme, “A Necessary Shift to a Regenerative Economy,” underscored the urgent need for businesses to contribute to ecosystem restoration and sustainable community value—a mission that Green SM has wholeheartedly embraced.
A Scalable Model for a Greener Future
Green SM’s success is rooted in its innovative, scalable, and inclusive approach to electrifying urban transport. The company operates a proprietary fleet of electric vehicles and has also developed the Green SM Platform, a cutting-edge technology that empowers individual VinFast EV owners to become part of the green mobility network. Furthermore, Green SM actively collaborates with traditional taxi operators, assisting them in transitioning their fleets to electric vehicles. This multifaceted approach creates a dynamic and open ecosystem that is accelerating the shift toward sustainable transportation in Vietnam and beyond.

“Go Green Global” – A Vietnamese Success Story
In just two years, Green SM has made a remarkable impact, expanding its operations from Vietnam to Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The company has completed over 300 million trips, covering an impressive 1.7 billion zero-emission kilometers. This has resulted in a staggering estimated reduction of over 211,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, which is equivalent to the annual carbon absorption capacity of approximately 3,200 hectares of forest.
In its home market of Vietnam, Green SM holds a commanding presence, leading the electric taxi market with nearly 40% market share. The company has forged key partnerships with close to 100 local transport businesses, with 19 of these companies having fully converted their fleets to electric vehicles. This defining shift is proving that green mobility is not just an alternative—it’s the new standard for modern urban transportation.
As the second-largest ride-hailing brand in Southeast Asia and the only one powered entirely by electric vehicles, Green SM’s recognition at AREA 2025 is a testament to Vietnam’s growing potential as a leader in global green innovation and a contributor to the long-term vision of a sustainable ecosystem.
