Micro life insurance companies in Nepal have recorded significant growth in premium collections during the current fiscal year 2081/82. According to the Insurance Board’s latest data, these companies have generated nearly NPR 1.09 billion in premiums within the first 11 months.

By the end of Jestha month, the total premium income of micro life insurers reached NPR 109.82 crore. Guardian Micro Life led the sector by earning NPR 41.36 crore in premium revenue. The company sold over 1.12 million insurance policies during this period. This strong performance sets Guardian Micro Life apart as the market leader in Nepal’s micro life insurance segment.
Following closely, Crest Micro Life earned NPR 39.94 crore from 394,401 insurance policies sold. Liberty Micro Life secured the third spot with NPR 28.50 crore collected through 147,240 policy sales. Together, these three companies dominate the micro life insurance market in Nepal.
Performance In Jestha Month
In Jestha alone, micro life insurers earned a total premium of NPR 11.56 crore. This monthly figure confirms steady growth and increasing consumer trust in micro life insurance products. The rise in premium collections reflects enhanced awareness among Nepali households about affordable insurance options.

The Insurance Board report shows that the three leading micro life insurance companies sold a combined total of 1,662,326 policies by Jestha month-end. Guardian Micro Life contributed the highest number with 1,120,682 policies sold. Crest Micro Life followed with 394,401 policies, while Liberty Micro Life sold 147,240 policies.
