Nepal’s leading international airline, Himalaya Airlines, marked its 10th anniversary with a grand celebration held at Hotel Yak and Yeti in Kathmandu. The event witnessed notable presence from officials of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), and employees of Himalaya Airlines.
Himalaya Airlines 10 Years
His Excellency Chen Song, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, graced the event as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Mukesh Dangal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Devendra Chandra Lal Karn, Deputy Director General of CAAN.
Over the past decade, Himalaya Airlines has expanded its air network to several countries, including China, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Malaysia, and Bangladesh.
Speakers at the event praised Himalaya Airlines for its vital role in promoting tourism, strengthening international relations, and contributing to Nepal’s aviation sector.
The celebration also featured cultural dances, songs, and a traditional costume show performed by the airline’s employees, reflecting Nepal’s rich cultural diversity. The event served not only as a celebration of the company’s achievements but also as an expression of gratitude toward its employees, shareholders, and passengers.
Founded in 2014 (2071 B.S.) and commencing commercial flights in 2016 (2073 B.S.), the airline has been consistently providing scheduled services to major destinations across Asia and the Middle East.
Looking ahead, Himalaya Airlines reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing service quality, expanding destinations, and contributing to the national vision of positioning Nepal as a major aviation hub in South Asia.

Himalaya Airlines is an international airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It began in 2014 as a joint venture between Yeti World Investment Group and Tibet Airlines. In May 2016, the airline started its commercial flights from Kathmandu to Doha. Since then, it has steadily expanded its route network.
