The Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the TCP/IP to link devices worldwide. The Internet is a network of the network that consists of private, public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope. The use of internet has been widespread over the world. Along with the use of the internet the cyber crime has been rapidly increased. Cybercrime is just the crime conducted via the internet or some other computer network in the intention with the harm for an individual or the institution. Due to the growing number of people gaining access to the internet, the rapid development of technology more of the people is becoming susceptible to involvement in cybercrime

The number of cybercrime is rapidly increasing in Nepal too. Since in Nepal, the number of people accessing the internet has been growing and so as the cybercrime. Here I enlisted some of the cybersecurity issues faced in Nepal.

Most of the cybercrime issues in Nepal are related to social media mainly because of unaware of the management of privacy and also the involvement of fake profiling. Lack of regular update of Electronic Transaction Act the policies under ETA is not so useful in forbidding the cybercrime in Nepal. The cybercrime can’t be stopped but can be prevented of it by having the standard policies and strong rules and regulation in Nepal. ETA can be inspired by the models used by the developed nations so that Nepalese people can be freed from the cybercrime.

Cybercrime can’t be denied entirely but can be mitigated. For the mitigation of cybercrime, I have mentioned the following tips:-

Well people in Nepal should be completely aware of using the social media since the trend of cybercrime is mostly in the field of social media in Nepal. People in Nepal still are unknown about the cybercrime so security companies in Nepal also should emphasis on giving awareness about in cybercrime so that people using the internet in Nepal without knowing about cybercrime can be prevented from having crime and being victim of cybercrime.
