6th March 2025, Kathmandu

At MWC Barcelona 2025, Huawei’s He Bo, President of Huawei Data Center Facility & Critical Power Product Line, introduced the next-generation site power facility architecture called “Single SitePower” and the AI data center construction guideline RASTM. These innovations aim to assist operators in becoming energy prosumers and to build more efficient ICT facilities in the age of AI.

Single SitePower: Revolutionizing Site Power Facilities

Single SitePower is an intelligent architecture designed for site power facilities. It integrates a three-level synergy mechanism, connecting site power facilities, wireless networks, and power grids.

This allows for bidirectional interaction of power and information flows, covering everything from power sources and grids to storage. The architecture supports full-link sensing, visualization, and management, boosting energy efficiency (SEE) and power availability (PAV) while lowering carbon intensity energy (NCIe). Three key features define this solution:

Resilient: Huawei integrates wireless networks with power facility networks, building resilience across the entire process.

Green: The architecture utilizes technologies like high-voltage series connection, intelligent algorithms, and AFCIs to create green, energy-efficient sites.

Reliable: Huawei emphasizes the importance of high-quality lithium batteries for reliable communication in site power facilities.

RASTM: The AI Data Center Construction Guideline

Huawei’s AI data center guideline RASTM addresses key challenges for AI data centers: reliability, uncertainty, rapid delivery, and high power demand. The guideline is a result of joint innovation with global customers. It emphasizes four core principles:

Reliable: AI data centers should incorporate enhanced architecture, intelligent management, and professional services to ensure reliability throughout the lifecycle.

Agile: A modular design and electromechanical decoupling allow for flexibility, addressing changing requirements and enabling rapid deployment.

Sustainable: The focus shifts from individual equipment efficiency to parallel system efficiency, driving energy-saving innovations like the super economic control (S-ECO) mode.

Vision for Future Integration

Huawei advocates for the concept of “Power for AI & AI for Power,” continuously investing in technological advancements to integrate digital, intelligent, and low-carbon technologies. The aim is to create a resilient, green, and reliable ICT infrastructure, helping operators transition from energy consumers to prosumers.

MWC Barcelona 2025 Overview
