A delightful initiative by the Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus has left an unforgettable mark on the hearts of 16 young souls from Anmol Children Development Home.
Hult Prize IOE Make a Wish Event
The event, titled “Make a Wish,” brought together these children, the volunteers, and the organizing committee members of the Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus for a heartwarming day of joy, learning, and inspiration. Held at Meroma Restaurant, the event focused on fostering creativity, well-being, and inclusivity, perfectly aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
The day began with the children, aged 7 to 10, arriving at the venue around noon, welcomed with open arms and warm smiles by the organizing committee.
Accompanied by dedicated volunteers from the orphanage, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation and excitement as they settled in. The meticulously planned activities ensured the children were engaged and filled with moments of sheer happiness, fostering a strong sense of belonging and community throughout the day.
One of the event’s highlights was a captivating storytelling session conducted by Baakhan Nyane Waa. This renowned organization specializes in documenting and sharing community stories through live storytelling.
Their engaging session transported the children to enchanting worlds through beautifully illustrated storybooks, evoking wide-eyed wonder and hearty laughter. For the organizing committee members, this experience was a nostalgic journey back to their childhoods, creating a warm and heartwarming atmosphere of shared joy and imagination.
To further spark creativity among the children, Baakhan Nyane Waa distributed their signature Yenya Colouring Books, inspiring the kids to bring the illustrations to life with vibrant colors. This activity not only nurtured their artistic flair but also provided them with a cherished keepsake to take home, serving as a colorful reminder of the day’s adventures.
Adding to the merriment was a lively face-painting session, where the children gleefully adorned their faces with fun and whimsical designs of animals, superheroes, and fantastical creatures.
The delightful creative buzz continued as everyone enjoyed a fantastic meal consisting of Chowmein and Momo, provided by Meroma Restaurant. This culinary feast fostered joyous interactions between the children and the organizing team, with laughter and playful banter filling the air.
As the event drew to a close, it concluded on a profoundly meaningful note. Each child participated in planting a sapling in a small pot—a symbolic act representing growth and care for the environment.
They were also encouraged to pen letters to their future selves, inspiring them to dream big and work diligently toward their aspirations. The radiant smiles and gleaming eyes of the children demonstrated the day’s success, with an infectious sense of hope and possibility radiating from each young heart.
