CSIT Association of Nepal (CSITAN) is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political, social organization established in 2011 by the young and energetic students from different colleges, persuading their career in Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (B.Sc. The primary purpose of establishing CSITAN is to act as a bridge between the faculty, students and IT industries in Nepal. CSITAN is working for ICT development and exploration in Nepal.

Well, the primary objective of this event is to get to know the view of youth AI researchers in Nepal regarding AGI or Super AI and to know pros and cons of super AI from their point of view. In simple words, this event shall try to answer the following questions: Should AGI be further developed or be slowed of pace? Will the machines beat humans and suppress us? Or their development will bring us, intelligent servants?

Mainly, we have targeted Computer Science (CS) and CSE students who study AI as their primary subject. And of course, this event is open to all those students who are interested in AI as well as related researches.

The event is free for everyone who is interested in attending the event.

6.   Who will be the presenters/speakers?

We have two presenters for the event. First is Mr. Aadesh Neupane who is a researcher/developer currently working on Inspiring lab where research and development of Nepali Natural Language Processing engine are going on, and the next is Mr. Chandan Goopta who is a Research Assistant in KU, also CEO of The Opinion – Nepali Sentiment Analysis Engine.

7.   Why do you think, this program is helpful to the audience?

This is the time the world is divided into two halves: researchers for against AGI. And it is essential for each CS student or even the Layman to know what the pros and cons of AGI are and what the near and far future will look like. Since this topic is a hot cake today, it is necessary for each CS student to be updated about this topic and indeed it will be helpful for them.
