British Council Honours 97 Test Takers in Grand IELTS ‘Upahar’ Ceremony

The British Council Nepal successfully concluded and awarded the winners of its highly anticipated third edition—the IELTS ‘Upahar’ Campaign 2025.

On December 17, 2025, a grand ceremony was hosted to honour the deserving winners, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to supporting students aspiring to study or migrate abroad.
This latest version of the ‘Upahar’ (Gift) campaign was enhanced to offer better recognition and more substantial prizes to the successful IELTS test takers.
The campaign saw extensive participation from students who actively registered and completed payment for their IELTS test either paper-based or computer-delivered between August 15 and November 30, 2025.
This inclusive approach ensured wide accessibility for prospective candidates across the country.
Weekly, Monthly, and Bumper Prize Details
A total of 97 students secured various rewards throughout the campaign period. The British Council selected winners through transparent weekly lucky draws, with announcements consistently made on their official social media channels.
The prize structure included exciting weekly, monthly, and ultimate bumper prizes. The ultimate prizes were highly sought-after tickets to international study destinations.
Winners of One-Way Flight Tickets (UK, Europe, USA): Three lucky winners were presented with a one-way air ticket to the UK, Europe, or the USA, sponsored by Turkish Airlines. Recipients: Sushobhan Chimoriya, Atithi Thapa, and Sandeep Jamakattel.
Winner of One-Way Flight Ticket (Australia): A single winner received a one-way air ticket to Australia, sponsored directly by the British Council. Recipient: Shikshya Tripathi.
Monthly winners were each awarded a top-of-the-line Apple MacBook Air, providing them with essential tools for their upcoming academic journeys. Recipients: Prantika Adhikari, Shraddha Shrestha, and Kritagya Shrestha.
Celebrating Key Education Partner Contributions
The award ceremony also provided an opportunity to recognise the invaluable contribution of institutional partners who consistently drive IELTS registrations.
Out of ten top-contributing partner institutions, three were specifically honoured for their promotional efforts and commitment to guiding students. Each of the top partners was presented with an iPad as a token of appreciation.
This recognition highlights the strong collaborative ecosystem that supports Nepalese students in achieving their global education goals through quality English language assessment.
British Council Leadership Commends Success
Speaking at the ceremony, Pratishtha Thapa, Country Director, British Council Nepal, offered her sincere congratulations to all participants and winners.
“We offer our congratulations to every winner of the IELTS ‘Upahar’ Campaign 2025,” Ms. Thapa stated. “As we work to expand the accessibility of IELTS throughout Nepal, we actively focus on boosting capacity and availability.
