In Bhaktapur, schools are not opened immediately; classes are carried out via virtual media.

The municipality of Madhyapur thimi agreed not to allow schools to operate immediately in their municipal area. Since last April, schools have been closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the school has been physically open in many municipalities, Madhyapur thimi reported that there is a high risk of coronavirus and the school will not be commissioned immediately.

Mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha informed that he would not allow the school to operate due to the high risk of coronavirus, in congratulatory, good wishes and interaction program organized by the Nepal Madhyapur thimi Municipal Working Group of the private and Residental School Organization.

“Currently, schools are being run through virtual media, examinations are being conducted,” he said. Let’s run a virtual classroom in the same manner. We have learned that we can do anything if we can bring it efficiently. Let us continue to teach until another decision has been taken.

The school principals who participated in the program said that Madhyapurthimi should not stop operating the school as other districts and municipalities have started operating the school physically. The participant claimed that not all students could attend the virtual class and that this should be physically conducted by health standards and safety measures. The students said the class should be carried out.
