inDrive Partners NCDM To Provide Sustainable Homes in Nepal
22nd July 2025, Kathmandu
inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform, has taken a significant step toward rebuilding lives in Nepal by officially handing over keys to new homes for families displaced by recent floods and landslides.

This impactful initiative, carried out in collaboration with the National Centre for Disaster Management (NCDM), includes the construction of five sustainable shelters and the distribution of essential supplies to affected households.
The newly built shelters were developed in close consultation with local communities to address the specific needs of disaster survivors. Constructed using bamboo and mud, the homes reflect a commitment to both sustainability and cultural relevance, offering families durable, environmentally conscious structures designed to withstand local conditions.
“At inDrive, our mission goes far beyond mobility — it’s about creating meaningful, lasting change,” said Pavit Nanda Anand, APAC Communication Lead at inDrive. “This partnership with NCDM embodies our values by providing more than just shelter; we are restoring a sense of stability, dignity, and hope to families facing unimaginable loss. We’re proud to stand with these communities as they rebuild their futures — with freedom of choice and renewed confidence.”
Mark Tolley, Regional Director for APAC at inDrive, added: “inDrive’s core mission is to challenge social injustice, and this initiative is a direct expression of that purpose. We aim to positively impact the lives of one billion people by 2030 through sustainable, community-driven action. These homes are more than just structures — they are safe havens that empower families to begin again. By ensuring freedom of choice and collaboration throughout the process, this partnership with NCDM reflects our dedication to dignity, resilience, and people-first solutions.”

About NCDM
The Nepal Centre for Disaster Management (NCDM), established in February 2002 and registered under the Kathmandu District Administration Office and the Social Welfare Council, Nepal, aims to mitigate the impact of disasters in the country. Nepal’s geographic and geological conditions make it highly susceptible to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs), among others. Contributing factors include active tectonic processes, fragile geology, unplanned settlements, weak economic conditions, and low literacy rates. Historically, devastating events such as the earthquakes of 1833, 1934, and 1988, and the 1993 floods, have caused significant loss of life and property, hindering the nation’s development. Poor governance and public awareness exacerbate these challenges. Recognizing the severe social, economic, and environmental impact of disasters, NCDM emphasizes proactive policies focused on preparedness, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation. The Centre believes in empowering local communities through training and awareness, viewing these efforts as essential to minimizing the effects of disasters and fostering resilience.
