InDrive Reinforces Commitment to Safety with ‘Safety First’ Training in Nepal

7th September 2025, Kathmandu

In a significant move to enhance the safety and reliability of its platform, InDrive, the globally recognized mobility and urban services provider, has successfully concluded its comprehensive “Safety First” training program.

InDrive FightBack Nepal

This initiative, undertaken in close collaboration with the non-profit organization FightBack Nepal, saw the participation of over 100 dedicated motorcycle and taxi drivers, a clear demonstration of InDrive’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of its users.

The training session was expertly led by Mr. Vikrant Pandey, the founder of FightBack Nepal, an organization renowned for its work in violence risk reduction.

Pandey’s session went beyond theoretical knowledge, equipping drivers with practical and applicable skills to handle a variety of challenging situations that may arise during their daily work.

The curriculum was meticulously designed to reinforce InDrive’s core principle of “Safety First,” aiming to cultivate a community of responsible, trustworthy, and professional drivers.

The training program covered a wide range of critical topics, including the fundamental importance of respecting and ensuring passenger safety, maintaining professional conduct and etiquette, and developing effective response strategies for uncomfortable or sensitive situations.

Through a dynamic mix of discussions, interactive exercises, and scenario-based learning, drivers were given the tools to build both mental and physical safety skills.

The program’s foundation, the FightBack’s BHV model—focusing on Building mental, vocal, and physical safety skills—provided a unique and highly effective framework for the training.

Upon successful completion of the training, each participating driver was awarded a certificate of completion and, more importantly, a “Verified Driver Badge.”

This badge serves as an official identifier on the InDrive platform, offering passengers an added layer of assurance and peace of mind. It signifies that the driver has undergone structured safety training and is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and safety.

This initiative not only benefits passengers but also empowers drivers by establishing them as certified professionals in the gig economy.

Ms. Rita Pokharel, InDrive Nepal’s Country Representative, underscored the platform’s core values. “Safety is not just a feature; it’s the very heart of InDrive’s mission.

We are determined to ensure that every passenger feels respected and secure, and that every driver is professionally empowered and equipped to handle any situation.

Programs like this help us in our mission to build a community of responsible drivers who prioritize safety, trust, and fairness above all else,” she stated.

Her comments highlight the company’s strategic focus on building a sustainable and ethical business model that places people at the center of its operations.

Echoing this sentiment, FightBack Nepal’s founder, Vikrant Pandey, spoke about the broader impact of the partnership. “Collaborating with InDrive marks a pivotal step toward establishing a robust culture of passenger safety in Nepal’s ride-hailing sector.

By arming drivers with awareness and practical skills, we are doing more than just preventing accidents; we are actively creating a safer environment for everyone, with a special focus on the security and comfort of women passengers.”

His statement emphasizes the program’s role in addressing a crucial social issue and contributing to a safer, more equitable society. InDrive’s vision of an equal-opportunity society is deeply embedded in its operational philosophy.

By making safety, trust, and mutual respect the cornerstones of its platform, InDrive is distinguishing itself in a competitive market. This latest training initiative is a powerful reinforcement of its identity as a “Safety First, People-Powered Platform.”

It is a testament to the company’s commitment to creating a symbiotic relationship where both drivers and passengers feel secure and valued, fostering a ride-hailing ecosystem built on fairness and reliability.

The successful conclusion of this training program sets a new benchmark for safety standards in the Nepali ride-hailing industry and signals a promising future for mobility services in the country.
