Infocom Pvt. Ltd., an internet service provider previously licensed by the Nepal Telecommunication Authority, has had its operating license revoked.

Infocom Internet Service License Revoked

The company, based in Hattisar, Kathmandu, received its internet service license on March 15, 1999, under permit number Ph.J. 1-09. The license was valid until May 28, 2024.

According to the Nepal Telecommunication Authority, the revocation came after Infocom Pvt. Ltd. expressed its intention to cease its services. The decision was made under Section 25 (1) of the Telecommunications Act, 2053, which governs the expiry and termination of licenses.

In addition to the license cancellation, the Authority has issued a public notification urging Infocom Pvt. Ltd. to settle outstanding payments. The company is required to address dues related to the rural telecommunication development fund and royalty payments as detailed in the audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2080/81.

Infocom Pvt. Ltd. is advised to contact the Nepal Telecommunication Authority promptly to resolve these financial obligations and ensure a smooth conclusion of its operations.

Established to deliver reliable internet services, Infocom Pvt. Ltd. played a key role in providing connectivity solutions to individuals and businesses across Kathmandu and beyond.

The company, headquartered in Hattisar, Kathmandu, was granted its operating license on March 15, 1999, under permit number Ph.J. 1-09. Infocom Pvt. Ltd. offers a range of internet services, including email and web access, contributing to the digital infrastructure of Nepal. Its services were crucial in supporting both personal and professional communication needs.

However, in a recent development, Infocom Pvt. Ltd.’s license was revoked by the Nepal Telecommunication Authority. This decision was made after the company indicated its intention to cease operations. The revocation is per the Telecommunications Act, of 2053, which mandates the process for license expiry and termination.

Following the license revocation, Infocom Pvt. Ltd. is required to settle outstanding dues related to the rural telecommunication development fund and royalty payments, as specified in its audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2080/81.
