inSIG 2025 Fellowships Open: Shape Internet Governance Future in Goa! Apply by July 13th

The highly anticipated 10th edition of the India School on Internet Governance (inSIG 2025) will open its fellowship applications tomorrow, June 18, 2025.

This is a prime opportunity for individuals passionate about shaping the digital landscape to gain invaluable knowledge, network with experts, and contribute to critical discussions on Internet governance. The application window will close on July 13, 2025.
Hosted jointly by the inSIG consortium of Internet Society India Chapters (Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Trivandrum) and BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, inSIG 2025 promises a face-to-face immersive experience.
The event will run from September 19 to 21, 2025, with pre-event activities commencing on September 18, 2025. The picturesque venue for this landmark event will be the BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, conveniently located near Dabolim Airport.
Why Apply for an inSIG 2025 Fellowship?
inSIG is a premier platform for fostering a multi-stakeholder dialogue on Internet governance. As a fellow, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the policies, technologies, and societal issues that govern the Internet. The program is designed to cultivate future leaders who can effectively contribute to and influence Internet policy discussions at national, regional, and global levels.
Fellowship Categories and Benefits:
InSIG 2025 offers various fellowship categories to cater to a diverse range of applicants:
Indian Fellows (25 seats): This category provides substantial support, including travel reimbursement up to ₹10,000, twin-sharing accommodation, meals, and a full event fee waiver. One seat is specifically reserved for specially-abled individuals.
International Fellows (15 seats): Open to global applicants interested in international Internet governance, this fellowship includes twin-sharing accommodation, meals, and a full event fee waiver. Please note that travel support is not provided for international fellows.
inSIG Alumni Fellows: Seats for alumni are based on available funding and include twin-sharing accommodation and meals, but no travel support. This is a great opportunity for past participants to re-engage and continue their contributions.
ISOC Chapter Fellows (~5 seats): These fellowships are internally selected by the organizing Indian Internet Society (ISOC) chapters. Local Fellows (Goa-based applicants): A separate local selection process will determine these fellows. They will not receive travel or accommodation support.
Who Can Apply?
InSIG 2025 welcomes applications from a wide array of individuals:
Indian Citizens: Professionals from the government, private sector, academia, civil society, media, and technical communities with an interest or experience in Internet Governance.
Global Applicants: Individuals from any part of the world keen on international Internet governance as International Fellows.
inSIG Alumni: Those who have previously participated in inSIG and wish to contribute again.
Selection Criteria:
Fellowship applicants will be carefully selected to ensure a rich diversity in the stakeholder community, gender, geography, and culture. This commitment to inclusivity aims to foster a well-rounded and representative dialogue.
Accommodation and Logistics:
Selected fellows will be provided with comfortable twin-sharing accommodation and dinner starting from the afternoon of September 18, 2025 (Day 0). Checkout is scheduled for September 21, 2025, by noon (Day 3).
How to Apply?
For Indian Fellows, International Fellows, and inSIG Alumni Fellows, applications must be submitted through the APNIC Fellowship Management System. Please note that registration on the system is required to apply.
