It is not things like relief materials and traupalins going to help people every time. You may have heard people have collected so much food that it can be enough for months and there are also places where no relief has been reached. But we are not here to criticize however enlighten everyone with works that have been making an impact in a whole new way by an organization named as Internet Society Nepal(ISOC Nepal).
The Internet Society is a global cause-driven organization governed by a diverse Board of Trustees that is dedicated to ensuring that the Internet stays open, transparent and defined by you. They are the ones working for the welfare of the internet community and its users as well.
During this disaster, this organization has done some remarkable works. The President of Internet Society (ISOC) Nepal Chapter, Babu Ram Aryal handed over connection equipment to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police to support efficient earthquake rescue operation in 29th April. Those include power banks, inverters, solar panels, and batteries. Internet Society Nepal has been working in Nepal since 2007 to promote internet and communication and the recent earthquake, and immediate aftershocks have badly hit electricity and internet connection in Nepal causing the serious effect to communication among rescue workers including Nepal police. Not only this, Internet Society Nepal have provided Generators to Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal, NTC and Nepal Police to restore the communication channels.
They have also come up with a new initiative, i.e., Reconnect Nepal in which Internet Society Nepal will be establishing Open WiFi Access Area in different places and Mobile charging stations as well. This initiative is supported by many Organizations and Individuals.
So their approach to helping in this hard time is thoughtful and appreciable. You can also support this organization to be further helpful in their quest of helping people by donating funds in https://www.internetsociety.org/form/donate-nepal
