Nepal Telecom claims that it doesn’t have a system to record phone calls made from landline telephone and mobiles.

An official of NTC informed authority can only know about how long the customer spoke and in which number the call was made but the clip of voice recording is unavailable even to them.

The details of talk time and call made numbers are provided only to the concerned authority.

In a police case if the court orders to record voice details then only the system is installed, but it is difficult for NTC to install the system for all the devices because they do not have proper technology.

“Nowadays there are different mobile applications that record the voice clip, those applications are not made with the consent of NTC”, added official from NTC.

Recording anyone calls violates the constitution. It breaches the provision of Right to Privacy.
