Digital signature implemented in Nepal. A numeric name is a government-certified identification code attached with a message to authenticate digital documents and emails by the sender to verify that the report is generated by the sender or the signatory who send the material to ensure that the document submitted is not modified.

Minister for Information and Communication Technology Sherdhan Rai on Monday said President Bidhya Devi Bhandari launched the digital signature amid a function on Wednesday.

It is said that the general public will get the facility of the digital signature within the last week of December.

The Ministry for Information and Communications Technology has said that all required infrastructure and human resource are in place to implement the provision of the digital signature in Nepal.

The Nepal government is going to implement the digital signature under the Electronic Transaction Act 2006 and Electronic Transaction Rules 2007. Similarly, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed the belief that information technology would further contribute to economic development after the political movement.   Stating that it was necessary to move ahead by facing challenges that would surface with the beginning of digital signature, Prime Minister Oli expressed happiness over moving the action forward with a determination of heading overall social activities towards good electronic governance.   He also assured that there would be full support from the government to make it successful.
