Jagat Pokharel Re-elected as Chairman of Trust Micro Insurance Ltd; IPO and Expansion Plans Unveiled

Jagat Pokharel has been re-elected as the chairman of Trust Micro Insurance Ltd. (TMIL), and the company has announced plans to issue an IPO in the coming year.

The first general meeting of the company, held in Butwal, saw the re-election of the old board members under the leadership of founder chairman Pokharel.

The new board of directors includes founder members Deepak Bohara, Rachit Kumar Agarwal, Pooja Singal, and Namraj Neupane, who will serve a four-year term. Jagat Pokharel, the newly re-elected chairman, is also the founder and trustee chairman of NMBA, the Nepal Microfinance Bankers’ Association, Vision Lumbini Company Limited, Vision Lumbini Energy Company, and other enterprises.

Additionally, Aramba Chautari, the founder chairman of Micro Finance and the founder of Lumbini Medical College, continues his influential role.

Deputy Executive Chief Officer Bishowjan Shrestha informed us that the General Assembly of Trust Micro Insurance has approved the proposal to issue an IPO to the general public in the next financial year.

With its head office in Butwal and corporate office in Kathmandu, the company has also decided to launch a mobile insurance service aimed at bringing insurance services to the rural areas of Lumbini province.

Purna Bahadur Thapa, Head of Lumbini Region of the Nepal Insurance Authority of Nepal, Company President Pokharel, and Chief Executive Officer Ujjwal Dhungana jointly inaugurated a mobile van for travel insurance services.

CEO Dhungana highlighted that the mobile vans will not only provide insurance documents but also educate the general public about the insurance claim process.

Since its official launch on the 9th of Chaitra, Trust Micro Insurance has expanded rapidly, offering services through nearly a dozen branches and sub-branches across the country.

The company provides group and personal accident insurance up to 7 lakh rupees, and house, property, and vehicle insurance up to 50 lakh rupees.

With a strong start in the microinsurance sector, Trust Micro Insurance is poised for significant growth and innovation in bringing insurance services to underserved populations.
