Jyoti Bikas Bank has proudly announced a significant achievement in Nepal’s banking sector, becoming the first development bank in the country to be certified under the latest ISO 27001:2022 standard for its Information Security Management System (ISMS).

The certification was officially awarded by INTERCERT, a globally recognized body specializing in information security standards. This validates Jyoti Bikas Bank’s comprehensive and robust information security framework, assuring top-tier protection for its customers’ data and banking operations.
The bank’s dedication to high-quality, internationally aligned information security systems spans across critical departments, including mobile banking, card payment services, deposit and credit services, IT, human resources, digital banking, general administration, operations, and risk management. This broad scope highlights the bank’s holistic approach to data security.
By obtaining this international certification, Jyoti Bikas Bank not only verifies that its information security systems meet global benchmarks but also significantly enhances the trust and confidence of its growing customer base. The certification was granted following a rigorous audit of the bank’s protective systems, practices, and control policies, with INTERCERT confirming the bank’s measures as technically strong, timely, and low-risk.
Jyoti Bikas Bank has consistently prioritized customer-centric and technology-friendly services, playing a vital role in Nepal’s ongoing digital banking transformation. A notable initiative is its “Newborn Care Program,” which, through 62 “Nyaano Nani” machines, has helped save the lives of over 2,294 newborns annually, demonstrating a profound impact on neonatal health and solidifying its position as one of Nepal’s most socially responsible financial institutions.
In fulfilling its national duties, the bank contributed NPR 400 million in taxes in the previous fiscal year and has already paid NPR 150 million in taxes as of mid-fiscal year (Poush end) of the current year.
